GENERAL RACE INFORMATION
Q: Where is the event?
A: The SJ5K is hosted at the Canton Varsity Football Field at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park.
Q: What time does the event begin?
A: The annual ceremony honoring the recipient families will begin at 8:00 AM. Runners will be released after the ceremony around 8:15 AM, followed by the walkers.
Q: Is this a timed race?
A: No, there is no official timing for the SJ5K. However, a clock will be at the start line and the finish line so you can track your time.
Q: How do I sign-up?
A: Click on the Registration tab on the far right of the Navigation menu
Q: What if I don’t want to run, but want to contribute some other way?
A: There are many ways you can support the SJ5K if you don’t want to run. See options to register, donate, or volunteer using the links on our home page.
Q: Is there more than one track?
A: Yes, there is the 5K track as well as a one-mile track.
REGISTRATION
Q: I registered, but made an error. How can I correct the mistake?
A: Login to Enmotive where you registered and make the changes if still having issues please contact us at sj5kfoundation@gmail.com to troubleshoot the issue.
Q: How do I register for a team?
A: The third step of registering allows you to select a team to join from a drop down list. Identify the team you’d like to join and follow the remaining steps of the registration prompts. If you already registered and want to join a team: Login to Enmotive and click “My Account”. Then click the green “Add Details” button and under Teams, select “Team to Join”. Q: Where can I pick-up my packet?
A: There are three pick-up options including:
P-CEP Student Pick-Up: P-CEP Students are to pick up their packet(s) at Plymouth High School during race week. Please note that this option is ONLY for students and staff members, NOT for the public.
Public Pick-Up: Saturday, May 4th at Plymouth High School from 10AM - 3PM & Sunday, May 5th at P-CEP Varsity Stadium from 7AM - 7:45AM. All registrants are welcome to pick-up race materials at these times.
Q: Can someone else pick-up my packet for me?
A: Yes, the name of the registrant will just need to be provided at pick-up. It is the responsibility of the participant and the individual picking-up materials to exchange packets.
Q: Do I get a t-shirt with my registration?
A: All registrations confirmed by April 15th are guaranteed a participant t-shirt. Registrations after this date will receive a t-shirt based on remaining availability.
Q: Do I need to register my infant?
A: No, infants do not require registration to attend and participate.
Q: Do I have to bring a receipt/confirmation ticket to prove that I paid at check-in?
A: To expedite the process, please bring a copy of your confirmation ticket or have your confirmation email available on your phone at time of pick-up.
Q: Can I receive a refund if I register but am no longer able to attend?
A: All sales are final and refunds will not be provided after registration is complete.
RACE DAY INFORMATION
Q: What if it rains?
A: Rain or shine, we will host the event. Only in the event of severe weather where Canton Township gives the directive, the race will be canceled.
Q: Where do I park for the event?
A: Parking is available at the following locations:
Participants can park in the Canton or Salem parking lots or the bus loop.
Volunteers are urged to park in the Plymouth parking lot.
Please note that the Plymouth HS parking lot will remain closed during the event and attendees cannot move their vehicles until after the event (est. 9:30 AM).
In addition, the Salem and Canton HS student parking lots will remain closed during the event and attendees cannot move their vehicles until after all participants have finished the Joy Road portion of the course (est. 9:30 - 10AM).
Q: Can I bring my dog to the race?
A: No, dogs are not allowed at the SJ5K.
Q: Can I bring a stroller to the race?
A: Yes, you can bring a stroller to the race.
